indicated by these icons: I have received emails from two people so far that stated that they have started getting spam email, and that it had other classmates listed. This sounds like the work of a "Spider" program. Its job is to search the internet and follow all page links to find out email addresses. To combat any further "Spider Attacks", I will be making an adjustment to the listed email addresses to the directory. All emails listed will have XXY added right before the @ symbol. This will only effect the listed email address. The email link will retain the true email address. Keep in mind to remove the XXY if you are copying an email address to send an email. This adjustment should thwart any future email gathering programs. To those that are getting spam, I suggest that you add the sender to your "blacklist". This term varies from ISP/email providers. For yahoo and hotmail type of accounts, you can mark the message as "spam" and all further email from that address will be routed to your spam folder. For accounts like one.net, fuse.net, amd aol.com, you can access your email via the interne and add them to a blocking/filtering list as well. If you have questions, contact your email provider or isp for steps on how to filter your email.
